For many families, pets provide unconditional love. Without them, much joy, activity and companionship is lost. Residents and staff at Mustang Creek Estates of Sachse recognize the importance of animals and are doing all they can to help local cats and dogs find their forever homes. The senior living community is excited to announce a newly formed partnership with the Sachse Animal Shelter. To kick off this partnership, the senior living community is organizing a donation drive from now until mid-November. Mustang Creek Estates of Sachse is asking the public to join its efforts and support their local animal shelter. The public is asked to drop off cat litter, dog and cat food, treats and toys, bleach, paper towels, trash bags, laundry detergent and other cleaning supplies that help keep the shelter clean and safe for pets. The donations can be dropped off at Mustang Creek Estates of Sachse (3900 Ranch Road in Sachse) inside House C and F, Monday through Sunday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. In addition to the supply drive, the Sachse Animal Shelter visited the residents for a special pet therapy session.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Sachse Animal Shelter, and our residents enjoyed having the pets in our community,” said Sharon Flowers, executive director of Mustang Creek Estates of Sachse. “We always look for ways to give back to local animals awaiting adoption, and we want to make sure they have everything they need while waiting for their new homes.”
While seniors benefit from the interaction with pets, the animals also benefit from the increased socialization, which can help them get adopted more quickly. Animal shelters are always in need of pet food and toys, but many people don’t realize the amount of cleaning supplies they go through in order to keep the shelter a safe place for the animals to live. Mustang Creek Estates of Sachse is proud to offer a helping hand to an organization that serves the local community.
“Many of our residents grew up with animals and enjoy the companionship they provide,” said Flowers. “We are proud to be a pet-friendly community and are excited to see the residents’ faces light up as they interact with the animals. We want to encourage the public to help us collect the necessary items and get these local animals’ tails wagging.”
