Holiday time is fast approaching.   People will be traveling out of town to go see family and friends for a long weekend.  This is a great time to check out an e-book from the library and take it with you.   The library launched its e-book collection   last December with 200 titles.  The collection has grown to over 950 items and it is becoming more popular each month.

If you want to join the group of Sachse e-book users, you can go to and click on e-books.   All you need is your library card!  No pin is necessary.    You can learn how to download to your smart device on the website and get setup.   Patrons are allowed to check out three e-books at a time, and they can read and check-out at home or on the go.  Patrons can browse the digital bookshelf from anywhere. E-Books are compatible with PCs, Macs, iPads, Nooks, Androids, and I-phones.   If your card does not work, please come by and we will replace it for you.   Library staff discovered during the kickoff that some of the older cards are not working properly.

Your library’s collection, both regular materials and e-books, is available to you through the website 24/7.   You can access our regular materials collection through the internet also.  Users can search for titles, place items on hold, and renew items.   So, if the weather is dreary, and you don’t want to come to the library or you need to renew a book while we are closed for the holidays, you can renew online!   The library offers email and text updates for the status of your items now.  If you would like to update your patron account to get emails and/or texts reminders, please call the library during regular library hours.  Library hours are Monday through Thursday from 12:00 to 8:00; Friday from 12:00 to 6:00 and Saturdays 10:00 to 4:00.
